Looks as if nobody's been around for a while. I don't know the answer to Bilbo's Bob question, but until he get's back, I post another;

This July (2011) will see an event that happens only once every 823 years.
It has to do with the number '5'. What is it?

Given that late 19th/early 20th Century British politics and its connection to popular colloquialisms isn't as interesting as I thought (who knew?), I'll give you the answer to mine. It was Arthur Balfour.

I think I know the answer to Stitchawl's question, and I think it's an urban myth. I think it happens again in 2016 and last happened in 2005. My suggestion in spoilers below:

Spoiler:
5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the month?

LOL!

Yes, your spoilers is the answer I was looking for.
Is it a myth? I really don't know. It was just something that was passed along to me recently. I thought it interesting.

So how about another question from you. Perhaps this time less ethnocentric so we have a chance of guessing.

My son told me that fact of yours a couple of weeks ago. It didn't quite ring true (given the cyclical nature of the calendar) so I checked it out, hence knowing the years it happens.

Next question then;

There are several proposed etymologies of the phrase 'OK', ranging from a contraction of Martin van Buren's nickname (Old Kinderhook), a connection with a biscuit company and a derivation from a Native American word, but one of them is the proposal that OK is a contraction of a deliberately misspelt phrase. What is that two word phrase, and what is the misspelt version?

Lets get this thread going. Hope this question is silly enough:

two actors are having their 80th birthday this week. They are also known to do music from time to time.

One is known for performing the worst Beatles cover of all times. The other one is the performer of the "Ballad ofBilbo Baggins"

Who are they?

edit: oops, did not see Bilbos question, sorry.

No problem, better two on the go at once than none.

I think that the Beatles coverer may be Leonard Nimoy? Not sure of the other one.

Who was that nephew?
Well ... I was working my way through the names of every Prime Minister I could remember from that era .... there were a lot of them! [I just now cheated & looked at the list on Wikipedia!]

O.K! In honor of the discussion in another thread;

What city's streets and sidewalks received 175 tons of daily excrement deposits before a "Pooper scooper" law passed in 1978?

I'm off to bed now. Post your answer, and if you know you are Korrect, feel free to pose another question. Otherwise, I'll check the answers in about 8 hours.
