Yes, much much quicker. Basically instant. But it comes at a price of not being able to open books directly from SD card. Of course you can always enable scanning and reinsert the card. Or use "copy to internal memory" submenu of the book on SD card.

I've checked the files that you've sent, they are not based on the latest version.

Victor, I ment that you don't have to use PRS+ installer to flash prs+ firmware. You could use igorsk's flasher, for example. But you still need to flash it, if you want the latest features.(Kartu)

what should I to do to instal the new functions by the igork's flash? Only is it necesary to flash with the new fsk.img or for the opposite i need more files, and then to realize the customize options for the user? but i still don't know, what is this use?

Two rules:
1) they must have .css extension
2) none of them should be named style.css, since if there is more than one file, style.css gets overwritten/deleted.

Because i don't know how to use it (i have a problem with igork's flash 2.1 it's imposible to flash appears a symbol of prohibited when i try use in my reader, so i have to use the 2.0 version) and i want to customize with the features like now (icons, language, date format, fonts, ect) after to install the new PRS+ firmware. One firmware is installed, is it posible to back a the previous state to flash other time with older fsk.img?

Victor, PRS+ Installer menu has Spanish and even Catalan translation. Just try it.

It depends on what you mean by it. If you have cramfs images, you can flash from any state to any state.

I have a cramfs images and the uncompressed files of the previous state, but if i reinstall the firmware of Sony, should it do the same effect?

Oups!...I have "Invalid format" on main menu, and everything froze!

I played with different style.css

First I have just one style.css and it works as it should.

Then i put three different css

style1.css
style2.css
style3.css

And I saw them in PRS settings, I could choose one of them. But when I go to "continue reeding" on some ePub book I did not see difference, css was not applied. Then I connected reader with USB and i saw that I have 4 files in /database/system/PRSPlus/epub/

style.css
style1.css
style2.css
style3.css

So I concluded that I forgot to delete my style.css when I put those other three (style1.css, style2.css, style3.css), and then I deleted style.css and then there was only these three. And when I disconnected reader from USB then my style3.css was apllied and it works great. But when i changed to style1.css or style2.css in PRS settings there where not applied, and somehow it returned to default state, like there is no any style.css file.

Then I connected reader with USB and saw these three (style1.css, style2.css, style3.css). Then I created empty file style.css so I have four css files. Then I disconnected USB reader and have same situation with default ePub font, with no css applied. But when I connected reader there was no that empty style.css, it was deleted, I only have style1.css, style2.css, style3.css

And when I disconnected reader from USB then (and now) I have frozen PRS-505 with "Invalid format" at the bottom

Did I make this situation with that empty style.css while I have other three (style1.css, style2.css, style3.css)?

Any suggestion on how to fix this ""Invalid format" frozen reader?

That is the main question right now

Other question is: why did other style.css was not applied when I set them in PRS settings? I don't know how I manage to make it work that one time.

kartu I saw the size fsk.img is smaller than the before newopt.img of PRS+. what is the reason? is there less files than before?

what are the really modifications (files) of this firmware with respect before?

"Continue reading" doesn't count (unless it was right after reboot, and you've changed settings before going into "continue reading")

And, as I said, you just give files .css extension and don't name then "style.css", but other than that, you can use any name and have as many files as you want:

myCoolStyleWithItalicFonts.css
helvetica_noMargings.css
whatever.css

regarding corrupted file system, it's important to know:
1) Due to the nature of flash based FS, changes to one file could affect many
2) The best way is to use "safely remove hardware" option in windows (there should be similar options in other OSses), in the worst case, wait at least 5-8 seconds after saving changes

Did you try to reset the reader?

prsp.sh was changed, 2 new folders /opt/mnt/ms /opt/mnt/sd were created.
Fsk image is created by an ant script, available in "build" repository.
I don't know why it is smaller, maybe because prsp.sh has become smaller.

As a new user I must ask a stupid question

: what do you mean with "reseting reader"? Do you mean on that tiny hole in the back of the reader? What is proper procedure to reset this reader?

Or will reinstalling PRS+ make things to work? I have PRS+ installation ready on SD card

Or installing official PRS-505 firmware and then PRS+?

What is the best way to revive reader?

Yes, pressing it and then moving "on/off" slider. It would simply reboot.

You seem to have damaged internal memory file system, reinstalling firmware is not needed.

Reset and see what happens. If the problem persists, try to connect the reader to your PC while it is booting, and see if disks are mounted. Then run wndow's checkdisk (it's somewhere in "tools" tab when you do right click -> properties on the drive )

Now after that important thing, yes, I saw that text "Experimental, affects only books opened afterwards" but I was not sure what that mean. If I reading some book and want to change style how I open that book again after changing style in PRS settings?

I now noticed this, so does this mean that we need to shut down reader through his option in settings after changing style, and only then will than style be applied?
