Download the firmware, unzip it in the .kobo directory on your device, it will contain a sub directory,a checksum and the update.
It must all been placed in the .kobo dir. then you disconnect the device, it restart automatically and updated,and it removes the files and the sub directory.

Jon; I'd say wait a bit. Kobo normally release a new f/w build for new devices when they officially ship, so I'd expect to see a 3.14.x or 3.15.x build appear around May 1st, the official release date of the Glo HD.

I was hoping 3.14.0 would be released so patches for the Glo HD could be created. That's the problem with a new Kobo. No way to make patches for it until the next version firmware is released.

3.14.0 is not going to be generally released. It is an interim firmware version for the Glo HD. It is either the factory firmware or an initial downloadable version for the Glo HD. As PeterT said, there will almost definitely be another release at the beginning of may. That will be the first "real" release for the Glo HD. Whether Kobo release it for other devices, I don't know. I am expecting they will, but, it wouldn't surprise me if the general release was a couple of weeks later.

I've tried it with mit Glo and it worked. I found nothing new so far since 3.13. I hope it will also work in other reader but you should habe an original image.
