I just discovered that once amazon has changed my kindle to the new UI, the feedback file is gone

Hey i am a newbie here.. can i connect to internet on kindle, login to my account to access my library after jailbreaking? and is there any way to block ota permanently after jailbreaking?

PS: and can i un-jailbreak and return to stock, if i need to?

Yes, you can still connect to the internet, log in to your account, and do everything you can normally do after jailbreaking.

Yes. Download this KUAL extension and select the rename option. This will completely disable the OTA binaries.

Yes. You just need to do a factory reset and then reinstall the firmware in that order. This will completely remove the jailbreak.

If you have a PW3 (as your userbox shows) and you're comfortable with opening your Kindle and using Linux, you can use Popcorn.

would the warranty be lost?
I don't understand why, having a good product, Amazon doesn't take care of its customers.

Hi, I bought a new KPW5 and it has software version 5.14.0.1.
Serial G001PX.

No chance of me using this method, right?

Can someone point me to the archive of kindle firmware files? I remember downloading the firmware for my previous kindle from there.

Edit: Or, alternatively, is there still a way to jailbreak this FW version? I only really want calibre collections sync and custom wallpapers.

I confess, I did try this method on impulse. It didn't work (gave me an application error) and then I typed ;exit_demo and rebooted. But now I can't turn off airplane mode (I need to registed my kindle once so I get all features. Probably never will turn airplane mode off after, ever). It says:

Feature Locked
This is a managed device. Aeroplane Mode and Bluetooth are locked. For information, contact: Your System Administrator.

EDIT:
Managed to factory reset device, wi-fi works now.

Followed this from OP:
create an empty file named "DO_FACTORY_RESTORE" at the root of the Kindle storage. Once this has been created, reboot the device.

I don't understand why, having a good product, Amazon doesn't take care of its customers.
On the one hand, I want to do the jailbreak but I don't know what advantages jailbreaking can give me and if it can break me or then I won't be able to go back to the original

Found 5.14.1.1, upgraded.

Didn't find 5.14.0.1, though. I'll likely downgrade to 5.13.7 after I jailbreak.
