If you can install anything your jailbreak is alive. Without it you can't install anything other then official firmware update bin files. And of course you wouldn't be able to open KUAL or start KOReader.

The other question would be "is jailbreak bridge FULLY restored for the next time you do firmware update?" (aka did you install the hotfix successfully after updating to 5.14.3)

if you mean if after install 5.14.3 I installed this JailBreak-1.16.N-FW-5.x-hotfix.zip , the reply is yes....because if you remember when I said , I tried to install JailBreak-1.16.N-FW-5.x-hotfix.zip ...obviously unpacked ecc...in the main root of kindle and tried to update from Kindle..the button was light grey...after upgrade in 5.14.3 I could install hotfix...strange thing...I putted 5.14.3 and hotfix same time into the root of kindle....botton was grey...I kept long press on shut down botton..kindle reboot and installed new 5.14.3...and later I checked update on kindle and finally the botton was able to be clicked so did hotfix..or I hope to did

to close anything...now I could be ok and sure to haven't any trouble or lost jailbreak also after re enable ota update...

Reinstall the hotfix by itself one more time, just in case. By using "Update Your Kindle" option.
And in the future don't put more then one bin installer into Kindle drive root. And don't improvise things but follow what other people tell you to do precisely. I told you to first install firmware update THEN after device reboots add and install hotfix and then reboot 2 more times.

1: am I going to miss the new page flip animation?
2: amazon disabled advertising on my kindle, will I have advertising again?
3: can i go back to normal if i don't like my jailbroken-kindle?
4: Is there any post to see what to do after the jailbreak, applications, tools, etc?

I am stuck in demo mode. It is misconfigured, as per the jailbreak, and ether the secret gesture doesn't work, or I am doing it wrong. Could someone coach me about what to do next?
This is a kindle 10th gen., fw 13.x.

The secret gesture is quite challenging. You may take a look at this video to see how to perform it correctly.

You need to do this to proceed to the next step, otherwise, you can do DO_FACTORY_RESTORE, but it will bring you back to the first step.

@shamanNS yes thanks, I installed one more time the hotfix.

I didn't install before the hotfix the new 5.14.3 because I though it removed the JB, for that I tried to install before the hotfix...but just long pressing botton works, so later upgrade new 5.14.3 ---and again hotfix but this time I could do By using "Update Your Kindle"...the good thing is , in the end anything went well, thanks to you again

ps so now I assume ; I can in the future update via OTA or as I did download the new software from Amazon server and will never lost may JAILbreak...the only my doubt is: in the beginning I understood , to remove JB just flash stock software and that's it...for this reason they sai block ota update by using renameota....is JB permanent or must reset the device and reinstall from zero stock SW to remove it for ever???

PPS this is like in Android when I got root privilege access because linux too this SW..

I think , in this way you have some protection that if your kindle updates to next firmware 5.14.4 or higher.
You can use renameotabin extension to block future updates of kindle firmware. You can find renameotabin in this thread

If you used "Rename" button of renameotabin extension for block updates, use "Restore" button of renameotabin before step 1 for activation "Update Your Kindle " from Settings menu of your kindle

After updating to 5.14.1.1 the jailbreak worked without problems (following the instructions). Installation of KUAL, renameotabin and koreader worked as well.
Update to 5.14.2, then Update_hotfix_watchthis_custom.bin again, followed by reinstallation of KUAL (coplate), everything works as expected.

This worked great, thank you so much for this. Got a couple more Kindles to JB on 5.12.2.2 which should be straightforward, but the question I had is that I have two Kindle PW 5th Gen (Serial No beginning with B024) that are on firmware version 5.6.1.1, that for ${REASONS} I also need to jailbreak, the thread title is "Software Jailbreak for any Kindle <=5.14.1" but in the compatibility notes it doesn't list either that specific Kindle Paperwhite or that software version so I'm wondering whether the title is slightly misleading or whether the compatibility notes are slightly misleading. I'm edging towards the former.

If it is indeed the former, is there any kind soul that could point me to a jailbreak for the Kindle PW 5th Gen on firmware version 5.6.1.1?

I'm not completely averse to soldering but obviously would prefer a software solution if that's possible.

My suggestion is to first manually update your PW5 to 5.14.1.1 and have a change to see how the new UI looks like. Since 5.14.1.1 still includes older UI code and in case you dislike it you at least have a choice to revert to that older UI (that you probably have on 5.14.0.1.) after jailbreaking.

If you like the new UI changes then you can then update your device to 5.14.3 (after successfully jailbreaking it while on 5.14.1.1 or 5.14.2).
I'm in the dislike camp and don't plan to update my PW5 from 5.14.1.1. If it wasn't necessary for successful jailbreaking I wouldn't even update it from 5.14.0.1

@CHBMB If I remember correctly PW1 on fw 5.6.1.1 could be downgraded back to 5.4.x using a simple trick of: copying over USB the firmware bin of that older firmware version and then without disconnecting the Kindle device from your computer (otherwise Kindle will just delete that older update bin file) forcing Kindle to reboot by pressing and holding the power button for something like 20 seconds.

After you've successfully downgraded you use older jailbreak method used in the past :

No you can't. Official firmware installer files are model-locked to a single Kindle model. So you can't use files meant for PW5 on other Kindles.

The first part of the link ("https://s3.amazonaws.com/firmwaredownloads/update_kindle_") if the same but you need to find out what internal nickname Amazon guys use for PW4. Like "all_new_paperwhite_11th" is used for PW5 and "all_new_paperwhite" is used for PW3. I think for PW4 they use something stupid like "all_new_paperwhite_V2".

Anyways, just google for "Kindle software updates" and the first result should be Amazon's page for Kindle eInk devices updates. Go there, click on the link to download the latest firmware for PW4 (aka Paperwhite 10th gen) and then you will see in browser downloads tab (Ctrl + J?) exactly how the link for 5.14.3 looks like. Copy that and just change from "5.14.3" to the version you want to update to.

Currently I'm not near a computer so can't check that info for you and just post you the links...

Using a KV. I see the jailbreak text running during the reboot, but come back to the "missing content/configure device" screen where we do the magic 2-finger touch/swipe. Is that normal? I can't seem to get the magic touch to work on this screen after the script runs, although it's finicky at best.

Ah, eventually got it. My KV screen is finicky at the best of times. Sigh.
