Any way to update firmware from an Apple Mac?
Is A Mac not supported?
This seems to be the most complicated firmware update that I have ever seen. Digid |

I used the link to get the updated video yes but he said to download the firmware and tool from the website. I tried it and still got the forbidden message.

Important Update: Please click here to watch the step by step Video Instructions to update eReader firmware. Once you have watched the video, you can download the necessary files below. Be sure to save the 2 downloads below to your computer. They are .zip files and must be extracted (or decompressed). Once extracted, you may begin the update process by connecting your eReader to your computer via USB cable and following the video instructions. Yes it is however you still make life a lot easier if you edit the ini file as someone mentioned so the program displays in English vice Chinese.
PDF and DOC is a start but I don't read e-books in those formats unless that's all I can get. My favored format is html. All the Baen free library books I grab are in html. And yes I vastly prefer left justification also. I would like to see the reader display whatever justification you have set in the html. |

Has anyone who's done the upgrade tried to open a PDF or DOC? How do those formats display - for example, how does a 'normal' PDF (that's not been formatted to the Delstar screen dimensions) look? Does it pan, or shrink it to fit, or...? And does the PDF renderer at least show any italics, bold, etc. that may be in the PDF?
The only reason to 'jump ship' from my existing REB1100 + iLiad combination is because I'd like to read PDFs on this back-lit device - if those still aren't working properly after the update, I'm less optimistic this can meet my needs. |

Maybe. And then again Walgreens may have gotten enough calls from irrate customers that they have it on hold until delstar fixes their product...Its even possible delstar asked Walgreens to put it on hold until they get it fixed... I am just hoping they can actually make the specified formats work. For me in particular, html not working is a deal breaker.

Interesting. They could have run out since they were on sale for 1.5 weeks. Or perhaps returns and complaints might have prompted Walgreens to pull the item.
