When we can see the new 9" model?

I am waiting to see the new 9" model so badly. How long do I have to wait? Any new?

Dear ssophon:

I KNOW if I was you I would get tired of hearing from me. God I wish I had something factual. Are they going to build a 9 inch? YES. It is held up still by the problem with the SIPix display. The display had problems going into production and they are trying to resolve it.

That is all I can get now. Everyone is disappointed including the factories. They cannot proceed and they have a ton of money sunk into engineering time.

The only reason that the 6 inch EZ Reader PLUS is coming out is that uses the PVI display which is more expensive but not held up. You may note that almost nobody is releasing new models right now.

Robert, thanks for the update. At least I know that it will come. So, I'll wait.

Thanks, Mr. B, for the update.

I hope these Sipix screens are worth the wait.

I saw a new 9.7" Brother e-reader in Japan the other day. It was my first time seeing an e-ink screen in the flesh and I was absolutely blown away be the clarity and contrast.

I was, of course, also blown away by the ridiculous price of just over $1000...

Can't wait to get my hands on a Jinke/Astak 9' reader.

Dear Mr. Dalliard:

Me also!! I have been talking about 9 and 9.7 inch devices for SO long and somehow every time we get close there is a problem that delays. It is no fun disappointing people. I am hungry to get this done!!

Mr. B:

Is Astak also looking at Netronix's 9.7" readers - possibly as part of your Mentor line?

http://www.netronixinc.com/E90800.html

The flexible screen they have been demonstrating is very reassuring.

Dear Mr. Dalliard:

Yes, we have someone over there now looking into what Netronix has. Netronix builds our Mentor line... and we are dying for a new addition to that line.

Netronix can be funny. Although Astak and Netronix do a lot of projects together... sometimes when we talk with them we find what they have out is already sold 100% to a Russian Company or somebody else. Russia is eBook Reader crazy and they can sell massive amounts of units there and that carries weight and can lock things up.

Yes, we are looking and hope to find this available.
