Backing up my ebooks from my PRS-650

I needed to reinstall windows on my computer and reinstalling the sony software as well as Calibre. I have also lost my ebooks from my computer HDD for some reason. These books are still on my sony reader. How am I able to back up and recover these files from the reader itself? is there a specific directory these books are stored?

Thanks

For Calibre, install on your newly setup computer, and hook up your reader. Go to the Device view (the books on the device), Select all of them, and Send to Computer.

After a while all the books will be on your computer, in the proper Calibre file structure. You may lose some metadata, depending on how you managed your books and what exactly get written to the reader.

There is, they're in the folder "books"

Connect the reader to your computer, close all auto-play windows and then navigate the reader in File Explorer. You can get the whole media directory from the reader and manually copy-paste them to wherever you want them.

Using calibre is easiest.

If you have books with DRM on your reader, Calibre will still copy them, but the DRM will remain and you won't be able to use them directly in Calibre. There are plugins that change this, but the default action for Calibre is to leave the DRM alone. For the DRM'ed files, you may want to copy them back into ADE or Sony Library.
