It happened to me too. Did you get 'Run hotfix book' visible on your Kindle library. If not: 1. copy 'Update_hotfix_universal' and save it in 'mrpackages' in your Kindle 2. Eject & unplug 3. Execute ';log mrpi' on your Kindle to push install Hotfix 4. Install KUAL as instruction 5. Install renameota as instruction 6. Install KOreader as instruction The files that worked on my PWSE5 - FW 5.17.1 are in the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P1C...usp=drive_link |

I guess I'm the 3rd guy with the same model and same problem.
Starting instantly dumps me back to the Kindle home screen. Starting without framework gives me an Application Error which reads "The selected application could not be started. Please try again." and eventually puts me back at the Kindle home screen where I see a new KPPMainAppv2_xxxxx... file I guess could be sent in as a dump for debugging. Starting ASAP does nothing just sends me back home which refreshes a few time and then nothing happens. |

I can't edit my message but https://github.com/koreader/koreader...hich-do-i-pick says I could or should be using KindleHF. I'm running firmware 5.17.1.0.3 which is higher than 5.16.3. Problem is there's no such release at https://github.com/koreader/koreader...s/tag/v2024.11 Just plain, legacy, and pw2.

I used Marek's build for my PW4. You can download the file from Marek's site or use this link: https://fw.notmarek.com/khf/koreader/ to directly download the file. Please note the file extension is .targz so either use 7-Zip to open the file or rename the extension to .tar.gz to allow it to be opened.
This version seems to be newer than the one at Index of /download/nightly/ so I haven't tried to use the latest one from there. |

Can't launch KOReader.
Hi all, I have some issue on my Kindle PW3 (7th gen). Firmware 5.16.2.1.1. I can't launch KOReader. No matter which option I choose, it goes back to home page. KUAL can be launched, just not KOReader.
I installed the KUAL (Coplate) and MRPI directly from that Winterbreak github page. I am using the KOReader nightly file that corresponds to today's date. I followed some Youtube tutorial and extracted the file in KOReader nightly "extensions" into the "extensions" folder in my Kindle, then extracted the other "koreader" folder into the root. I don't know if I've done something wrong here. Also, during the installation of the Hotfix I received this error: "Failed to remount rootfs RO" and the error occured again but restarting the UI had no issues. Not sure if this contributed to the issue. Please let me know how I can fix this, thank you! ![]() |

FIXED: needed to use Marek's KHF version. Likely due to using Marek's KUAL in the first place.
