Dark mode system wide?

So, I use dark mode all the time on all my reading devices. I know the kindles have dark mode extend to the main/system screens and the kobo in dark mode reverts to non-dark mode for the main screen and dictionary lookups which is super annoying when reading in low light conditions (ie next to sleeping spouse).

Is there any way to extend the dark mode to these areas on the kindle? I know there is the "invert" in devmode (if available on certain kobo firmware) but that also inverts the covers/images and makes for ugly images. I am interested in a dark mode that acts similar to kindles (without buying a kindle).

Nope. Inverted mode is the only way to get dark mode everywhere.
