Back / Foreground Screen Colour picker

I'm using ver Calibre 6.27 on KDE Plasma 5.27.8

The background/foreground screen colour picker on the metadata page isn't working like it used to. When I select either, the entire screen goes blurry, opaque like.

The picture or book cover on the left is all opaque and no matter what colour I choose with the colour picker they are darker than what's actually in the pic.

Eg. If I select pink, it shows in the picker as a maroon; white shows a deep gray, green shows a muddy something etc.

I tried different screen settings but the same result.

What color picker? You mean when customizing the generate cover function? That will almost certainly be a wayland issue. Switch back to X11 and you will be fine.

Thanks for responding Kovid. I am using X11

This colour picker. See how the image behind the colour picker dialog is sort of greyed over? And instead of the bright green it is a light minty grey.

Thanks.

That's something your window manager is doing, its dulling all background windows to make the topmost popup more prominent. Here's what it looks like on my X11 system.

Thanks again Govid. It was indeed the Window Focus that was set to 'darken parent window of active dialog'.

I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.
Cheers.
