Device updating Calibre information

I'm not sure why this is happening, so I may be posting in the wrong place.

For some time, when I connect my Kobo Sage it updates some of the information in the Calibre library automatically, which I don't like. I only made the connection that this was the action today, but I had been noticing changes for a while, so I can't say what triggered it.

When I connect my Kobo and I have a partially read book (usually fanfiction epub if that makes a difference), my 'Read' custom column will update to the current date and the 'Pages' custom column changes to a different number (usually 1, but I have also seen it at 19 and not sure what this is taken from).

I do get an 'Updating (Book Title)' message when I connect my device, but it's hidden behind the File Explorer and today I happened to close that quick enough to see the message.

This is fairly recent (no more than 2 or 3 weeks), and it didn't do this before. I would prefer to modify my columns myself.

Can anyone help me with where to look to adjust this: Calibre, Kobo, or a plugin? (The plugins I use that I think could affect this are KoboUtilities, JobSpy, Count Pages...maybe FanFicFare, but I don't see how)

You maybe accidentally set one of the settings here to change your page column.

Additionally, you can disable auto-storing or use 'prompt to store.' Note that if you use the latter, click the 'cancel' button - unchecking books just gets ignored (a bug that showed up after the original plugin author died

I don't know what it was, but I just went and looked at what was shown (KoboUtilities, Device config, etc), didn't change anything because it all looked like it was supposed to (I hadn't changed anything in several months other than updating when there was an update). I connected and none of my columns changed, so...I have no clue

Thanks though! Even if I didn't change anything, it maybe 'shook something loose' and is fixed! LOL

Ok, so today I connected my Kobo, and again, my last read custom column got changed in Calibre, and my pages got changed to 1.

I went through what was suggested above, but all those correspond to bookmarks and reading positions (it didn't click for me before) and that is not what is happening.

Connecting my device changes the information in my Calibre custom columns, which I don't want to happen. Not sure why it stopped doing it yesterday and started again today.

Are you using the KoboUtilities plugin? If so, have you configured the first page (Profiles) with the custom columns used to save current reading position, etc.?
