Question Problems converting docx to ePub

Hi

I have a non-fiction docx with a fair amount of images, bullets and ordered lists plus H1 and H2 headings (using a Stylesheet).

Problem is, I have inserted Page-breaks in Word, yet after conversion to ePub, Calibre (latest version 8.2.1), puts blank page (as if the break appeared on the next page).

Next, some images are stretched horizontally.

Bullet points, some appear as intended (* text) and some (* text), no consistency, despite using hanging 0.5 in Word

I read help in Calibre, no instructions on images, though all are inline with text.

Can anyone direct me for correcting these anomalies?
Thanks

It sounds like quite a bit of work is required to fix the epub.
A good start is to upload a copy of the ebook so we can see the coding directly and offer advice how to fix.
You can scramble the ebook first by installing this addon... https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=267998

Don't use a list style. Create a paragraph style that mimics list layout and type in the bullets, letters or numbers, Make use they use the default font, or embed the font.

You may need to edit image CSS after conversion. Set the width as % or px and height to auto, no left & right margins if centred.. Make sure all images are anchored as characters and if you want centred, have them in an otherwise empty paragraph styled as centred with no margins.

Insert breaks automatically using a heading or paragraph style that has "insert new page before", no manual breaks.

Any heading or paragraph at the top of a page needs to have style in Word (Or LO Writer) with no top paragraph spacing, but top padding because a lot of epub renderers strip top margins at the start of a page and some bottom margins at a bottom of page (especially at page breaks).

Each properly done (insert page break before style in Word) page break starts a new HTML file as this is the 100% way to have a new page on an ereader.

Only have one page style in Word, with no headers, footers, or page numbers. it's not a PDF.

LO Writer also works perfectly, but only if edited in odt and an extra save As in docx for Calibre that is never opened in LO.

Success at perfect epub from docx needs correct use of styles and how the images are inserted and formatted. Never crop or resize images in Word (or LO Writer), do it in a real image editor/ photo editor (Photoshop not needed) not from Microsoft or Google.

No, the problem is the formatting of the Word doc.
