Calibre/Amazon v1.39 KFX removal issues.

Using Kindle App for PC and had to upgrade to Kindle v 1.39 to download new books and now KFX-begon4 is no longer able to remove KFX-ZIP for calibre conversion. Is this because of the new amazon version upgrade?

Looking online for the latest information to remove Amazon Kindle Ebook DRM for 2023 - I have noticed that an Amazon Kindle Series Number is required for Calibre.

I have never had an Amazon Kindle Series Number since I have always use my Kindle App for PC and not a physical Kindle device. As previously stated used KFX-begone4 to open my Kindle App for PC to add the ebook to Calibe for EPUB conversion previously the ebook would arrive in the AZW3 or MOBI format now only arrives in the KFX-ZIP format and cannot convert due to DRM lock.

I have looked to locate an Amazon Kindle Series Number for the PC with no success. Can anyone direct me where I might be able to locate this Kindle Series Number on my PC?

Or is there a KFX removal program available that does not require an Amazon Kindle Series Number like KFX-begon4 did not require one? (All other programs I have located so far require an Amazon Kindle Series Number/E-reader)

(Have KFX output 1.65 \ DeDRM 10.03 \ Obok DeDRM 10.03 already installed in Calibre). Thanks.

Basically from 3rd jan all newly published books are only available as drm kfx unless you have a physical kindle (not fire) and can download from Amazon via usb.

Books downloaded using Kindle for PC version 1.39 in KFX format have DRM that cannot currently be removed.

The alternative is to download books for your e-ink Kindle device. The Kindle serial number mentioned is the serial number of that device. If you do not own such a device that method won’t work for you.

Unfortunately the older Kindle software versions that don't support KFX instruct you to upgrade to download the book. So while you can use the older version software for books NOT in the KFX format, newer KFX format books are not downloadable without upgrading (and thus losing the ability to remove DRM).

The problem is that Kindle eBooks published January 3, 2023 or later have to be downloaded with the latest version of Kindle. With the latest Kindle app, you can only get KFX and KFX cannot have the DRM removed. Buying Kindle eBooks published before January 3, 2023 can be downloaded with an older version of Kindle and have the DRM removed.
