Calibre not adding books

Hi,

I have a new Kobo Clara 2e. I am trying to add my books however Calibre will not add all of them. It has added 503 or 505. Whenp I try to add the last two it will take another 2 books off before adding. However many I try to add, it takes off the same amount and they are then not on the device.

Anyone have any idea? There is plenty of room on the device so it is not full.

TIA

512 is a magic (storage) number. Some of those are used for house keeping (both OS and Calibre).

This makes me suspicious that:
the storage is FAT and not FAT32 (Fat has limits on root entries)
that you may have modified the template and put all the books into \
instead of a folder (eg \mybooks\{authors}\{title})

else

What's the exact command your using to add the books? Assuming it's something like Send to Device > Send Specific Format to > Main Memory > EPub, and it gets listed in the Jobs popup in the lower-right corner, does anything look odd there? Does anything show up when you select the jobs and hit Show Job Details?

Another possibility might be to start Calibre with:
Code:
calibre-debug -g
and see if anything odd shows up there.

Thanks for the replies.

It is FAT 32. I reformatted it to see if that made a difference and it's still doing the same thing.

I am just sending to main device memory. Nothing looks abnormal when the job is being done. Have wiped and re setup the Kobo and it is still doing it.

I have had previous Kobos and have not had this issue. Have the latest issue of calibre too. Very frustrating.

Does it happen if you copy books onto the device with the file manager instead of Calibre?

I think it may have been the files themselves for some reason. I got some new books and added them fine. Will just try and find new files of the ones that wouldn't add.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
