calibre will not start

Hallo,

new problem for me:
an a new installed windows 10, calibre won't start after installing.
I tried:
- latest 64 bit
- latest 32 bit
- portable version
- windows 8 compatible version

all with the same behavior; will start to the taskmanager, where "the main calibre program" will show up, but nothing else.

Any ideas where to look at?

Add:
the very old version 3.4.8 will install and start as usual. Strange...
But if I update that version to the newest, nothing will work-

There is no error there so check if the calibre window is offscreen by gathering all windows back onto the screen as described here: https://www.wikihow.com/Bring-an-Off...ack-on-Windows

There is no window which is not on the screen...

I have just an entry in the taskmanager and no further window.

Then, as written above, nothing else happens...

thank you for the suggestion!
As I understood the configuration folder is the "resources" folder on PC. However, when i try to rename nothing happens.
Or is there any other folder which should be renamed?

On Windows the default path to the configuration folder will be something like:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\calibre

That's what you need to rename. But make sure calibre is NOT running when you do that.
