Libra2 Q: Flip Case, Return Policy????

I really miss page turn buttons on the Kindle PW and am thinking of buying a Kobo Libra 2 via Black Friday deal, if there is one. I have 2 questions.

Returns:
Given all the individual variation regarding which reader is "good" and which is "bad" (the chocolate vs vanilla debate), I'm reluctant to fully commit to such an expensive purchase without first handling the device or without having a robust return policy. Kobo USA offers free shipping, a 30 day return policy, and says that they provide a prepaid return shipping label. Sounds great. However, the "fine print" references a "restocking fee." Does anyone know exactly how much this fee is, if it is applied to all returned devices or only ones that are damaged, etc.? Are Kobo returns pretty seamless?

Flip Case: An important feature to me, likely more important than page turn buttons, is having a so-called "flip case" i.e. a case that opens vertically rather than horizontally so that the reader can stand on a surface without being held. Amazon of course has many variations on this theme for Kindle, but I'm not coming up with much for the Libra 2. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place(s). Does anyone know a USA source for Libra 2 flip cases?

Thanks for the help!

Re: flip case. The official Sleepcover opens to the side, but it folds in such a way that it creates a stand. And the Libra2 will automatically flip orientation if you want the buttons on the other side, and the stand is ambidextrous. There are 3rd party Libra2 cases that also fold this way.

You can also read in landscape orientation. The sleepcover can support the Libra in any orientation, any one side can be bottom.

Ironically, Amazon sells Kobos, and has hassle-free return. I buy my Kobos and accessories through them now for that reason.

The Libra 2 is a wonderful device, and as fogice says, the official Sleepcover stand can be used either horizontally or vertically as a stand.

Thanks for the input!

I looked at the sleepcover case, and I think I see what you all mean about it holding the Libra 2 upright. However, I don't think that would work for me as the Libra does not seem to be held vertical enough. I do a lot of reading while lying down, and the "easel" style case for the Kindle works great as I can adjust to get the angle just right for balancing on my chest.

I looked at Amazon, and yes there is the Libra 2. However, it is not sold by Amazon. It is sold by 3rd party vendor called BlueProton. I got into a problem with a 3rd party vendor once, eventually resolved, and I've heard tales about counterfeit/defective products from 3rd party vendors so I would be wary about BlueProton. I deal exclusively with Amazon on Amazon, with rare exception, and as RJS said my experience with Amazon has been hassle free return and exemplary customer service.

I appreciate you all trying to help and hope that anyone else having info will chime in!

Reddit says the restocking fee is 7 US dollars https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/commen...estocking_fee/

Just get one and hold it while you read like most people
It really is a superb reader.

BlueProton is an official Kobo partner in the US. It's listed on Kobo's website in the "where to buy" section, along with Walmart.

I agree that the angle of the sleep cover origami stand is not vertical enough. You can compensate by putting an object underneath the stand to make the Libra closer to being vertical, or you can buy an adjustable reading stand like this one:

More great info, thanks!

$7 risk is fine, but good to know about BlueProton as Amazon return is even better.

I thought about adding a stand, but was thinking along the line of the "reading pillows" designed to hold a book and figured that they would be too cumbersome. That small stand in the link might work OK.

Thanks again!

OK I didn't think to look for cases on Amazon as I thought they would be Kindle only, but turns out they have several that look like they may work for me.

Now waiting with fingers crossed for a BF deal ......

I use this for a variety of devices while lying down. High quality, featherweight, ultrasuede. Pocket and dedicated stylus holder on the back:

Lamicall Stand

Thank you, I had considered this type of "pillow" stand and that one looks like a good option.

As a first step I ordered the small stand linked by Aleron Ives. I'm going to audition it with my Kindle to get a feel for how it may work with the Kobo.
