how to backup the library? Can you write it down step by step?

I use the first method. I keep copies of my library and configuration folders in Dropbox and on external drives. FreeFileSync (mirror option) makes it easy to keep the back-ups up to date.

I agree to use FreeFileSync to make a copy of your Calibre library directory. That way after the first time you back up your library, it won't need to be fully copied every time you go to back it up.

Don't forget the configuration folder. That only really needs to be done if you change settings (Calibre or a Plugin). (user dictionarie additions is another thing to cause a needed backup

Plugins can be re-updated the normal way. Customization's, need to be from a backup.
The rest is easily recoverable.
