I had PW2 unit jailbroken and all stuff installed back in 2021; serial adapter attached inside. I don't remember exact firmware revision, but I think it was latest possible. Then it sat on a shelf for almost a year, got fully discharged and refused to boot after I charged it.
I checked diag output via serial and last message was "kinit: init not found!". uboot works, and diag menu works.
1. I used diag menu to export partition, copy update package (update_kindle_paperwhite_6th_5.12.2.2.bin) and install update fw - it seemed to worked successfully, but after restart I got into same recovery menu. with same error.
2. I tried to format partition using "I" and "O" options before I read I shouldn't do that. Too late... So I guess my diags partition is wiped.
3. Also I see a lot of partition/FS-related warnings in the boot log, but I can't identify the cause of them and how to fix them. Log attached.

Thank you mate! I got it working using some voodoo magic - several failed reboots with entering diags menu and clicking random items, then re-flashing stock image. But I think something in diags menu did actually help.

I didn't use kindletool for these procedures. Just fastboot to flash diags and built-in diags menu to flash main image. As for the password, I got it previous time while embedding serial controller PCB into the kindle frame
