no space between italicized words

I have some epubs that I've transferred to my Kobo. But it seems like anytime there is an italicized word, the space between it and the preceding word is removed on device.

Here's what it looks like in Caliber

And what it looks like on device.

Any ideas why this is and how I can fix that?

It was a bug in the KoboTouch Extended driver. Is that what you're using? If so, update it.

It would be useful to post version info for calibre and any plugins being used.

Also is this using ePub or kepub ?

Call me cookoo but for some reason I thought I remember seeing a message that KoboTouchExtended was no longer needed but I'm probably very mistaken.

But I just reinstalled it and problem is fixed after resending to device.

ePub. And sorry yes, version/plugins would have been helpful.

This suggests that you have not updated calibre to v8+ as version 8.00 was when the KTE driver was deprecated and blacklisted. If you are still using earlier version, the KTE driver is still needed.
