With Mac OS, no transfer of ebooks from reader to library possible
Dear community,
after many years I have switched from Windows to Mac Os.
I had copied the Calibre library to my new Apple device and integrated the library into Calibre.
I can also copy books from the library to the eReader tolino Shine 3.
But the reverse is not possible. The button to copy ebooks from the device to the library is greyed out.
I do not understand this. I am tempted to blame the Apple operating system.
Does anyone have any advice please?

as far as I know transferring on macOS works the same as on windows. What button are you referring to? IIRC the way to copy books from the device to the calibre library is right click on a book in the device view and choose "Add books to library". On macOS I believe you right click with either ctrl+click or cmd+click cant remember which it is at the moment.

Check all of your permissions make sure that your user have read/write ownership of your reader.

I got confused by the operating system change. If I had used my Windows system in parallel, I might have figured out that the book selection and copy to Calibre library works via mouse right click.
Shame on me

Calibre is really great!!!

FWIW - the Copy to Library tool, like any other tool, can be added/removed from any toolbar and/or menu. The only 'fixture' is that Preferences must be in The main toolbar or The menubar.
