K2 Jailbreak K2

I'm trying to jailbreak an ancient Kindle 2 (that works) in order to get a more functional PDF reader on it. Following the directions here

"Update your Kindle" stays grayed out & doesn't activate as far as I can tell; rebooting doesn't seem to show any affect.

Is this jailbreak still possible? Is there something else I need to do?

Is it possible that the update process still needs wireless? Wireless is gone in this jurisdiction.

I haven't used this device in a few years but have developed an interest in using a lot more ebooks and downloaded docs and trying to minimize paper.
If there are any discussions of this issue please point me to them- I looked around but there's a lot of material.

Still works. If the UYK link is grayed out, it means you used the wrong file or put it in the wrong place.

You're right - I gave it a selection of files & it seems to have found one that works.
I was able to go on to add the PDF viewer, so it has worked out.
