Calibre to Kindle (USB) Paperwhite Device not found
Using Win7, Calibre 3.48 (as instructed by website).
New 2022 Paperwhite 11th gen. Kindle device is visible in Windows Explorer and I can traverse the directories on the device. Calibre can not see the device (it can see an older 2019 Kindle just fine.) Ran the Calibre Debug Device Detection algorithm, here is the output: Spoiler:
It looks like it sees the MTP device but does not recognize it. "No suitable MTP devices found" Any advice? |

Workaround???
To be more detailed, I can't "Send to Device" with calibre (my normal action in the past.)
I can "save to disk" and that seemed to work if I put it in the "Downloaded" directory. |

Basically, your version of calibre is too old to support that Paperwhite model. If your operating system allows, upgrade and then install calibre 6.whatever. Otherwise, you are going to be stuck with save to disk.
BTW, the Paperwhite is not a MTP device. |

If the computer does not allow an upgrade, then it's time for a new computer.

The update is still free. https://www.laptopmag.com/uk/article...indows-10-free IMHO, I see no reason to stay with Windows 7 if the computer can run Windows 10. I've run both and I see no reason to stay with Windows 7. |

I said if the computer does not allow an upgrade. The upgrade is what I would do. I did not stay with Windows 7. I moved to Windows 10 and never looked back. I don't get this hate for Windows 10.

Jon, give it a rest. We know you want everybody to upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new computer running Windows 10/11 if they are not already doing so. The constant repetition is getting very annoying. If you don't have anything to offer other that upgrade or new computer, please skip posting.
