Help! The touch screen on my Kobo Clara HD bugged out

Hi,

I'm probably going to have to contact the support of Kobo or the store that sold me the device, but I'm freaking out, and I'm wondering if someone can provide me with some insights here regarding my problem.

I've been a proud owner of a Kobo Clara HD for 2 years (my first ereader). The device is in pristine condition, and I think I haven't dropped it once in all this time of daily use.

I charged the device to about 80% about 6 days ago. I don't know why, but it stopped at that percentage, and I didn't think much of it. For 4 days in a row, I used it daily. I didn't read anything yesterday, and today when I picked up my Clara, it had no charge. I thought that was very odd because usually, an 80% charge lasts me many weeks.

I put it to charge, and this time it went all up to 100% charge. I picked it up to start reading after work and, to my absolute dread the touch was bugging out. Like, it registered my touches but it wouldn't do anything. I could see the book I was pressing being highlighted, but it wouldn't change the screen to the actual book, same for the menus. The only "button" that was working normally was the battery icon.

I did a factory reset and the problem persists. After fiddling around with the device, I've realized that the touches are only registering when I have two points of contact with the screen.

The reason I say this is a bug, and not something that is actually broken, is that the onscreen keyboard is working perfectly for all the keys...

I'm wondering if someone is having/has had the same experience with Kobo devices before.

This has really put me in a bad mood :C
