Can you copy text in kobo desktop

Is there a way to highlight a section of text in the Kobo desktop for windows and copy it? Seems like a simple thing to do, but I don't see how.

I can do it in the ios app, but I don't see a way to do it in the windows app.

Thanks.

I had a play and the answer is, "Not directly". There are no copy options in the menu when you select the text. And hitting CTR-C doesn't copy it. The best I could so was to use the lookup and copy the text from the popup dialog.

That's too bad. I've used the Nook for years and now looking at other options because this option is lacking. Kobo seems like it has everything else I want except this simple feature.

Every application I know of has a copy and paste feature. Odd that it works fine in the ios app, but not the windows app.

I think the oddness is because the desktop app is largely the code running on the devices. Or at least the book management and reading parts are. The devices do not have a clipboard, so it would be extra function to add. It seems a strange omission, but, it also suggests that so few people use the app for reading that it has never come up.

Personally, I never use the app for reading. Pretty much the only times I have opened a book in it is to test annotation syncing. There are much better methods of reading ebooks.
