PW3 no longer connects to WiFi

Went to sync a new library eBook to my Kindle PW3 and it no longer connects to our WiFi. I went through all of Amazon's steps here with no success. All our other devices connect fine.

Firmware is 5.13.7. The only recent change was I did pay the $20 to turn off ads so I could get book covers to show in sleep mode. Charged my daughter's long-neglected PW3 (with ads), and hers is also not connecting to WiFi. It's still on 5.12.4, so it doesn't appear to be a firmware issue. There has been no known change to our Verizon FiOS router, and rebooting it changed nothing. Any ideas I'm missing? |

Does either PW3 see any wifi access points at all?

	Access point password change? |

They see both our main and guest network first, and after about 20 seconds, 8 other access points in the neighborhood (FiOS and Spectrum). But connecting fails.

No change to password, haven't moved the router or done anything else to it. I've been Googling issues with 2.4Ghz devices connecting to our G3100 router going back months, but don't know what would have triggered this now. I know it was connecting fine in late January, which I believe was the last time I synced a library ebook. None of the Kindle First Reads caught my eye this month and I haven't bought anything lately - trying to read through my Amazon and Calibre libraries this year on my eInk devices. Does your router have 5GHz and 2.4GHz under one SSID? Can you set it so that the 5GHz signal is on its own? Try that if you can and connecting to the 2.4GHz one.

It is a tri-band router so I can split if I need to, but I didn't need to for the 18 months since we got it.

I wasn't able to connect to our router via laptop/WiFi, but the ethernet connected computer could and I split off the 2.4 Ghz band (Verizon calls it IoT for the 2.4 band). So maybe Verizon updated the router configuration recently? Thank you both for your help/guidance. |

I believe I would have had to go through the rigamarole of tethering to my laptop. Since the Macs went USB-C, I haven't bothered with connecting a Kindle, nor K4Mac since 64 bit. Not even sure what happened to my A-->C adapter.

Luckily WiFi is back in business. Thanks! |
