Kobo Clara or Aura 2?
Hi!
I'm really into kobo readers, if we can say. I have two of them, both are kinda old. The first gen kobo Touch and the first Aura (2013, non-hd) version. The thing is, I like to read more on my kobo Touch even though it doesn't have frontlight, so I bought for it a kobo LED light, but it's a bit uncomfy. The Aura has frontlight, but here's my problem: The screen is blurry, compared to the Touch. The Touch has an infrared display, the Aura has capacitive touch, which causes the blurry effect. But I want to buy a new one, with sharp screen and frontlight as well. I don't have the ability to try them out, just buy them from kobo store / elsewhere, so here is my question: which one has the sharpest display from the two? Kobo Aura Edition 2 or Clara HD? On the internet you can just read about raw specs and other (for me) useless specs I already know. I don't mind the lower DPI, if I have a non-blurry sharp display. Thank you.) |

Have a look at the forthcoming Kobo Libra 2. It's one of the to newly released Kobo Readers. On pre-order now for October 19.
See this thread on the new Kobo releases. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=342141 |

Ah yes, but no. First of all, I never wanted to be an early adopter. And I don't mind to use an older device, if it's actually pretty good. I think both Aura 2 and Clara are. Don't mind the bezel at all, in fact, I prefer the sunken screen without the extra layer on it. My question is still the same: the Aura 2 or the Clara HD has the sharper display (regardless of DPI) from the two? |

I don't have a Clara HD, but I have its close sibling, a Tolino Shine 3. I also have an Aura 2. The Shine 3's screen is much nicer. Better contrast, whiter (in the cold setting) and better font rendering. (Can't guarantee that this applies to the Clara, but I'm guessing the hardware is pretty much the same.)

I have both and I would go with Clara, no doubt.

Thank you guys.
I hoped almost all of you say the Aura 2, because its better looking, but the Clara with the orange light its waay better option.) Thanks again.) |

Even if you were wanting a cheaper model, why not the Nia over the Aura 2?
At any rate, go for the Clara. If your complaint was about blurry screens, get the highest DPI you can. |

Bought the Clara yesterday. Awesome machine, I love it, it's really fast. Hope will last for like 10 years.)))
