The patches have been released.

As usual, NickelMenu does not require any updates and will continue to work after the upgrade.

NickelSeries (which adds built-in support for reading series metadata during import), and my other NickelHook patches will also work with this version.

Good catch! I'll do some digging later and see if I can find any hints. My first wild guess (take this with a large pinch of salt) is that it's probably either a new reader plugin (remember that the formats are implemented as plugins internally) or it's where the bluealsa stuff went.

OTOH, it's not surprising they're having issues if the environment variable they're using is wrong...

Edit: Not directly related, but while taking a quick look, I noticed that there's a `com.kobo.nickel.PluginInterface3` (and `PluginInterface2` was removed) since 15190.

That is my list. Kobo described the Annotations sync, as a "New Annotation service". Which probably means a full rewrite. During the beta, I had some problems with two devices. They would not sync the annotations. All the others, plus the Android and iOS apps synced fine. Signing out and back in on one (haven't gotten around to the other) fixed the problem. The annotation syncing for these two devices have been broken for a while. There were annotations on them from last year that hadn't synced. Which actually means there were annotations that I forgot to delete more so than.

For calibre, there are no changes except to bump the supported firmware version. I will be making this change ready for the next release. In the meantime, it is safe to use the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option in the drivers.

It is a new service. It's also the first of their sync APIs to use PATCH requests, but I haven't gotten around to figuring out the rest yet.
