copy citation to clipboard gets strange text

When I use copy citation to clipboard to copy a sentence, I got the strange text like this:

Can I copy a sentence plus citation like this?

There's nothing strange about it. Its markdown formatted plain text including a link which when clicked on will open that cited location in the calibre viewer.

And no, I'm afraid there is not support for custom formatting for copied citations. You will need to copy them separately and format them yourself.

I copied and pasted a text into a markdown file, but clicking on it didn't open the viewer. Here's a video clip showing my operation: https://youtu.be/Da_BCrEWQXo

How should I correctly use this functionality?

View the file in something that properly renders markdown links.

could you please recommend an app that works for you? i tried ms word, vs code, typora and none works.

Notepad++ renders markdown, mostly, and links are clickable. You must select markdown under "Languages."

RSTPad displays the raw markdown and the formatted result. I think it is a "portable app" on windows, meaning that the install zip contains everything you need to run without running an installer.
