K4 Mac or PC Download K4Mac 1.26

Is there anywhere I can download K4Mac 1.26?

I've been using 1.17 on Mojave but just migrated to Big Sur, where it doesn't work.

And I don't want 1.30, which is all I can find that will work on BS.

Since no-one seems to know where to find 1.26, maybe someone knows where I could find 1.25 or 1.27...?

You can find older Kindle for Mac downloads using a Google search for the proper file name. (You should check that the file downloaded has not be altered by verifying its hash.)

Thanks for the response. I am sufficiently adept with internet searches that I'd already tried those recommendations before coming to mobileread. (I did learn the useful - I hope - info that will prevent Amazon from updating my current K4Mac without my permission. That should be helpful on my elderly laptop where I keep having to uninstall & reinstall K4Mac to keep the version I want on that device.)

But I can't find anything that will run on Big Sur besides 1.30 on the net - even the links provided in the post no longer take me anywhere I can get anything other than 1.30.

I just Googled KindleForMac-55093.dmg (which is 1.26.1). The top result was: https://mac.filehorse.com/download-kindle-for-mac/

While it defaults to the latest version 1.30, there are 3 tabs across the top: Features / Screenshots / Old Versions. Select Old Versions and you can download the old version of your choice.

There is also a pull-down menu for "Old Versions" that allows you to select 1.26.1.

CAVEAT: I have NOT downloaded or tested or verified anything from this site and you should follow jhowell's shasum -a 256 instructions to do so. I was just curious what I'd get if Googled around and thought I'd pass along what I found

It all worked out fine. I did the shasum & the file matched. Opened it & version 1.26.1 showed up as promised.

Closed it, reopened, & the damned thing updated to 1.30 despite my contrary selection in Preferences. I'll have to go back over the update prevention scheme to see if something changed or if I got something wrong.

Amazon has gotten aggressive with forced auto-updates, even if you have unchecked auto-updates in Preferences. To get around this, go to User > Library > Application Support > Kindle folder and replace the "updates" folder with an empty txt file named "updates" (no extension) OR apply chmod -w to the "updates" folder. After you do that, K4Mac will ask if you want to download a new version every time you launch the app, and you can choose no.

Doesn't work ver1.30 or 1.26.1 with big sur.
