"Formats" not appearing in bulk edit Search and Replace

Any ideas on where to find it.
I have added the column to the main display.

formats is a reflection of the book files available in the book record you cant edit it directly. If you want to remove or add files to book records use the dedicated controls for it.

what about in the search field, though? e.g. adding something to the tags if a format exists.

select the set of books based on the formats criteria using a regular search first, then run the search and replace.

I worded my question stupidly.

I recently reset my computer, and when i reinstalled calibre, I found that "formats" was not in the dropdown.

When I said "where to find it" I meant where is the setting to put it back.

You will need to create a custom formats column for that, via Preferences->Add your own columns.
