Fetch News in Epub and Mobi
Hi
Right now, I am using the Fetch News feature to get news which are delivered to my Kindle in Mobi format. In the library, the news (in the form of an ebook) are stotred in Mobi format. I want to keep the news in both Epub and Mobi format. What should I do? Thanks in advance. |

In my house I use Kindle to read books, others use iPad.
I use my calibre as a server using Rasberry PI so that everyone can get the books by using the browser. The problem is iBook app does not support Mobi. Also I want to keep the news in Epub format as it was widely supported. So, no easy way to do it? |

You can convert books in the web interface via the browser. Seems pretty easy to me. And if you are running the server, then how are you getting news downloaded? Presumably using ebook-convert, in whih case simply run it twice to create the news in both formats.

In the Raspberry Pi, I scheduled the download and it is automatically downloaded and email to my kindle. It works just fine. The news are automatically downloaded in Mobi format and one copy will be emailed to my kindle. I do not do any conversion on my own.
Now, personally I do not like the Mobi format for news fetch as it does not support the Section and Articles menu. In the Epub, both Section and Article menu works and I can go to the main menu just by clicking on the Sections option before and after each article. If I do the convert from Mobi to Epub, the Section and Article menu does not work either. So I guess, I should download the news as Epub and then try to convert it to Mobi. This way the Section and Articles menu will work. Is there any way to do it automatically? Without me touching anything? |
