Book in multiple Series?
Hi,
I'm a longtime Calibre user (14 yrs) but haven't run across the solution to this.. If you have a single ebook that the author has decided belong in two or more of his/her Series, how do you handle this in Calibre? 1) Is there a way in Meta data to point two Calibre entries at one physical book file? 2) Make a copy of the book file and create two Calibre entries? Up until now, I've been using option 2... maybe there are other options? any help will be appreciated Don |

Been answered (sorta) many times because the All solution is ugly DB structure wise.
I have a custom series like column That is for the single Alternate. I also use Hierarchical series: Pern.Dragonriders and ONLY Number on the sub series. Nobody is going to arrest you for changing how you enter series names ![]() ![]() And for Anthologies or Boxed collections ![]() Although if you really must have precision: EPUB split (and archive the master) |

Add a custom column (series_2/Series 2) with Column type: Text column for keeping series-like information, viz:

This has come up several times before. My general answer: Save yourself the headache of dealing with this problem by simply banging your head against your desk (preferably, quite vigorously), cursing the author for creating the metadata hell, and then drowning your pain in a nice glass of your preferred libation. Works every time.
