Leading zero for series number?

Hi all.

I read the instructions here (https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/template_lang.html) but they just flew over my head.

I understand that this is the code I require, [Quote] (Suppose you wanted to ensure that the series_index is always formatted as three digits with leading zeros. This would do the trick:{series_index:0>3s} - Three digits with leading zeros [End Quote]

But where do I need to put this code? In the plugboard settings, tweaks?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Step by step instructions would be BLISS if you have the time.

Thanks in advance.

The code does NOT affect the Calibre GUI

It is for books sent to devices (or folders).

You put that code into the send to device template IF the device uses filenames to show you what books are there.

You put it into the Plugboard if your device uses standard metadata fields (eg Kindle)

My examples show fractional series MMM.FF

Thanks for this. So the GUI is set to display numbers less than ten without a leading zero, yes?

Yes, Unlike filenames or plugboard actions, the (series) GUI is really 2 fields merged so they are Number value aware and don't need padding to make them sort correctly. No, 1, 10, 2, 20...
