Showing additional pdf metadata fields

Hello,

I come here in search for help, because my attempts to find a solution via google and co so far weren't successful.

In my calibre library I have a lot of pdf files utilizing the "producer" metadata field. If possible I want to create a user-defined column showing the "producer" metadata field. Is this possible? Or is there perhaps another way to somehow show this metadata field inside calibre?

No, calibre does not read that field from PDF files.

Is there a list somewhere showing which pdf fields are read by calibre?

There is no list, but you can check by setting all metadata for a book in calibre, and saving the pdf to disk and checking the metadata in it. The fields that have been changed will also be the fields calibre will read.

Thanks again for the reply.

For someone having the same problem in the future: Since the producer field isn't read by calibre I used a bash script to rename alle pdf files to their producer field value via exiftool and configured "Adding books" in calibre to read the file name as "Publisher" under "Configure metadata from file name".
