Text going grey

The text on my kindle is black for about one second and then goes grey. This has happened twice now over a period of about a month. I have read other books in-between these two that have stayed black. Any ideas? Thanks for any responses.

Could be a corrupt book, wonky font, text formatted as greyscale, a display fault or or bad drugs, I suppose. Kinda need more details or a pattern to do more than speculate. If you have more information, let us know. Or perhaps someone has had a similar experience and delineated the likely cause.

Was it one or two specific books that did this? Did the same book that went grey do the same thing when reopened a second or third time? Were you able to download a new copy of that book to see if that resolves the issue? Did you try a different font? Have you had any other hardware issues or has the device been dropped recently?
