Sleepcover issues on Forma

Hi,

I've just bought a Kobo Forma, together with the official Kobo Forma Sleepcover.

When I want to hold the ereader like a regular book and fold the cover so he attaches to the back, my ereader goes into sleep mode after a few page turns.

I've contacted support about this, and they reported it's 'by design' because the magnet is also detected from the backside of the cover.

Browsing around the internet I've encountered quite a bit of posts where people are using their sleepcover like I do, without any issues. Which makes me believe it's not really 'by design'.

The only problem is: is it the cover or is it the ereader itself that's the cause?

Is there anyone that has encountered the same problem?

(forma has been updated to the december 2019 firmware, 4.19.14123)

Thanks
Mark

Sent the cover back to the shop and requested a replacement.
I've received the replacement yesterday and this one works just fine.

It looks like some sleep covers have a magnet that's too strong.

They were BSing you. That's a design issue and they know it.

The magnets were (are?) too strong for THAT case, and they should have been upfront and honest with you and should have happily sent you a new case and requested (at their expense) the return of the one you purchased.

Happily (as you state), you now have one that works!

My wife's forma does the exact same thing. The interesting thing with hers is it only does it right after she charges it. Once the battery drains to around 95% (usually 1 night or so), she doesn't have the issue anymore until the next full charge.

I've yet to figure out how the charge status plays into it...
