Bulk Convert External Files?

I like Calibre's ability to convert EPUB (and other files) to PDF. I tend do use this feature very often to convert files to a readable format for my desktop and ipad by doing the following:
1. Load the EPUB to kindle
2. Highlight all and bulk convert
3. Use windows to find all PDFs within calibre library
4. Copy paste them into destination directory
5. Delete the items from Calibre library

Is there a way i can skip some of the steps in between?
i.e.
Can I set a origin directory and destination directory and have it convert all the files to PDF without having to go into calibre?

I guess I'm look for a recipe that uses the command line that exists for converting single files. Maybe a multi-threaded powershell script?

FYI - the calibre "Recipes" forum is about screen scraping news/blog/rss feeds.

You've already found the appropriate command.

Single conversions can take a long time, they've been known to run for more than 24 hours.

My experience with doing multiple simultaneous conversion jobs in the GUI (there's a setting in Prefs->Miscellaneous) was that it took up to twice as long (elapsed time) to convert 20 books with 3 simultaneous jobs than converting the same 20 books with a single job. No idea if that would the true in a multi-threaded script.

Single conversions via command line would take that long? So am I stuck to having to use the GUI?
I'm not picky about actually multi-threaded or sequentially using the converter. Just need to be able to specify an input folder and output directory.

Thank you for moving to the appropriate thread by the way.

In which case I suggest using a for loop in a batch file, see ==>> windows - Iterate all files in a directory using a 'for' loop - Stack Overflow
