Someone should be able to create a user plugin based on the code in 4.5. The only problem would be if the driver had something in it that was specific to the 4.x versions of calibre. That is unlikely, but possible.

You will need to upgrade to 4.5 to get the driver you need. If your system is unable to run 4.5, you'll need to upgrade your OS to one that can run 4.5.
