Just updated to 4.0 now Calibre Freezes when trying to edit preferences
Now that I have updated to Calibre 4.0 the application freezes if I select the "Preferences" Icon.

Windows 10 64Bit Build 1903 on Intel i7-8700 3.2Ghz CPU 16BGB Ram.

I need to be able to update preferences. Can I reinstall previous version without loosing my library?

Uninstall 4.0 and then install 3.48. This should have no effect on your library. Another possibility is to uninstall 4.0 and re-install 4.0 -- that helped one friend of mine with an issue where downloading metadata did not work after his update to 4.0.
