Kobo brightness

Dear all, random question out of curiosity:

What percentage brightness you usually use?

After using the Glo, Clara and now the Libra i never went beyond 12 or 14%

More then once i questioned myself why it needs more than that. When in well lit conditions, i don't need light for obvious reasons. When in more dark places, more than 10% i get blinded lol

In the dark max 2-3%, in daytime it varies a lot but it goes from 10 to 30%. I agree that anything closer to 10% in the dark would probably blind me.

In the dark 2-3% -- more is too much. In my not-well-lit living room 20%.

20-35 percent in conditions with ambient light, less when it's dark. H2O2.

9% in a dimly lit room, off in brightly lit conditions (daylight, directly under a lamp) and 1-2% in the dark.

It depends on your eyesight. My mother-in-law likes her lights bright. So she has her Reader set much higher then I ever would.

It depends on what works for you. It's bright in case some need or want it that way. Me, I usually use 4 or 5% on my H2O.

13% when it's dark (but I think I'm going to tone it down a bit, it is quite bright), 18% in regular lighting, and 30% with bright lights or the sun.

Surely it must be different for everyone.

I'm just curious as i see no situation where there was use for all the available light.

Do you see a difference in having backlight in the sun?

When I read outside with sun glasses I need the light at 100% on a sunny day to read. (original H2O)

And if the sunglasses are off, do you need the light at all?

One thing I have noticed. If the screen is inverted, I find that the light need to be brighter then if the screen is normal.

I turn the light all the way off if I am using my Clara in sunlight (I don't usually sit outside in the sun to read, but sometimes I read while sitting in the car on my lunch break).

I haven't paid attention to the % used when I am inside. I usually adjust it by moving my thumb up and down the screen and don't open the settings unless i want to change the level of blue/orange.

I usually set the blue/orange almost all the way toward blue in the daytime and in the middle or a little more toward orange at night.

I can't really tell because my glasses were transitional so I always have sunglasses! I'll let you know next summer because I just got new non-transitional glasses ...

Ah, that explains it. I don't wear sunglasses when reading while sitting in my car, so don't need the reader's light on.
