Inkpad 3 Pro: how to zoom on images in books?

I recently bought an Inkpad 3 Pro and I'm happy with it.

Without installing any other reader (i'd like to keep friction to a minimum and I'd like to only have one default reader) is it possible to zoom in images in books?

on my previously owned Oasis a double tap on an image in a ebook would view the image in fullscreen and make it zoomable. Even on my Kobo Forma it was possible....


Is there any way to accomplish this?
If not, how can I send feedback to Pocketbook to ask for this essential feature?



It seems strange, with this amount of personalisation in the software...

No, it's not possible in default reader. You can install KOReader for instance.

thanks, but I hoped to find a simple solution, without installing custom software or requiring scripting.

I had a look at KOreader, but it involves possibly the use of a script on some Pocketbook devices to work, and then I would have two ways to open book etc...

I don't understand what does "scripting" mean. You can install KOReader just by copying files into ereader's internal memory. It could be necessary to edit „extensions.cfg” as well. Not very complicated nor intrusive.

True, not complicate, and scripting is the wrong word, I was replying fast.

The thing is, with two reader software I would need to understand how the underlying and notes system would work, how to choose which reader to use for any books ( the fact that the choice exists is itself annoying, “decision fatigue”) and I would need to understand what will happen the next firmware update..

Some users report slugginess is KOreader with their pocketbooks etc.

It’s another territory, an interesting one, but it’s for people who like to tinker, to hack, to explore etc.

This time I want to buy the product and be happy.

As I wrote in the original post: I want to reduce friction at a minimum, in terms of user experience. Maybe in the future.

I’ve posted a feature request in the appropriate thread. I hope it’ll be implemented.

I understand the feeling of wanting to buy something and it just working.

But to be honest, installing Koreader and having the option of also using that, besides the stock reader, is, IMHO, less mentally taxing than what you already have now.

On Pocketbook it's really that easy that you don't need to understand anything, you copy some files, which I assume you are familiar with the process from computers and other devices, and then pick which reader you want to start with the same normal click you do today on the books (easily changed if you want to do that later) and if you want to pick the other reader, you simple long-click, get a "open-with" menu, which I presume you also are already familiar from computer use.

Sometimes you got to pick your battles, and in all honesty, if zooming on images is something you value, adding Koreader to your system is the easy way out.

I hope they add such function like zooming pictures in near future. It would be big advantage of PocketBook eReaders anyway. It would be great to have such feature out of the box.

I looked the instruction, maybe when I have a bit of time to make some tests

Maybe you could help posting in favor of this feature in the feature request post, the more requests, the more likely is they will do it!

I'm trying to install KOreader on my InkPad 3 Pro.

when they write: "copy and merge the applications directory in the unzipped archive into your PocketBook's USB root directory" do they mean that at the end of the copy I will have:

/Volumes/PB740-2/applications/koreader (this is a folder)

and:

/Volumes/PB740-2/applications/koreader.app (this is a file)

I'm skipping the optional part about the system directory.
But now I have in the app menu (the one that lists also chess and sudoku) a @._Koreader and a @Koreader app.
when I tap on the first it says "unable to start the app". on the second, simply goes back to main menu.
