Unable to import book into Library

Where trying to import an epub book into Calibre I get the following error:

calibre, version 3.46.0
ERROR: Errors while adding: Failed to add any books
With error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/add.py", line 414, in add_book
File "site-packages/calibre/db/legacy.py", line 225, in create_book_entry

File "lib/python2.7/os.py", line 157, in makedirs
OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Volumes/media/Books/Calibre/Author/Book Name (274)'

If a create a new Calibre library the book imports without issue!

Any ideas/resolutions to what is causing this problem would be most appreciated.

Is that a LOCAL drive for your Library? That is a requirement.

There is a FAQ on 'permission denied" errors, but I thought that was mostly for devices

The Calibre is on a Mac mini server, and using Calibre on an iMac using a shared drive (on the server). Even when I run Calibre on the server (local drive), I get the same error.

I have no issue importing any other book, just this one.

I'll take a closer look at the FAQ...

See this one n particular ==>> I am getting errors with my calibre library on a networked drive/NAS?

Try creating a fresh library on the iMac local drive and see if you can add the book to it - if you can then you've probably ran up against the FAQ recommendation:

Do not put your calibre library on a networked drive.

That is a permission denied error, check the permissions on the folders in that path, basically the OS is not allowing calibre to create the folder for that book
