How can I remove languages?

Hello everyone nice to meet you,

i'm new to calibre and I love it!!. Thank you very much for this software Mr. Goyal!. I'm using it for PC and Android.

I've a question, though. I'm reading only with 4 languages Japanese, Thai, German and English. I don't want all the other languages on the selection. Is there a way to remove them?.


Another question. On the left menu where you see Author, Languages etc. Firstly is there a way to remove one of those instead of just "hide" them?. Second question is there a possibility to create sub- categories into the "Series" category?.

As instance:

      ::Horror::

No, but I think the languages you select most often should be at the top of list.

I assume you mean hide a specific entry - e.g. Harper Collins in Publishers - in which case the answer is No. But, why would you want to do that?

I will assume the languages are listed in the Tag Browser?
If you see it there, there is a book that has metadata that said that.
It may be wrongly marked internally. After checking (view the book), correct the 'Language' in Calibre, then use Polish or Embed Metadata tools that are part of Calibre (you can also edit the book)

Enable Hierarchical tagging for Series and Tags:

Thriller.Horror
Pern.Harper Hall

These will appear nested in the tag browser
