I certainly have never used antivirus software for my iPhone or iPad. In theory, at least, that's the advantage of Apple's walled garden approach to applications. One could get a virus via a web site or email, but it would need to target iPhones or iPads. I do use ad blocker add ons for my browsers.

Not only is an antivirus pointless, but it won’t work anyway. No third party app can gain direct access to the file system unless you jailbreak.

I didn’t even know there were anti-virus apps for iPhone. If you haven’t jail broken, you don’t need one

There aren't any. There are some "mobile security" apps, but at most these just provide things like VPN, password security*, and anti-phishing. A true anti-virus cannot function within Apple's sandboxed environment.

*unless you want to share your passwords with non-Apple devices, the built in password vault is perfectly adequate.
