multiple TOCs?

If I combine three books into one epub can I have four TOCs? A TOC at the beginning of each book and one at the beginning for the whole book that has entries to the cover pages at the beginning of each book.

You can certainly have inline TOC's. But only one as a separate entity. Inline TOC's are just pages with entries and links. The need not match the separate enitity. In ePub the main TOC is not inside the book, it is a separate file and accessed directly at anytime from the reading app. In your case I would not generate an inline master TOC.

Ok, thanks. I'd forgotten about the html toc was thinking about the nav.xhtml toc. So would it work to make four html TOCs, and for the nav.xhtml use h1 for the book titles and h2 for the book chapters?

Ok, thanks. I was confused/forgetting about the html TOC because in the content.opf the nav.xhmtl was down at the bottom and I moved it up so it's after the title page and then proceeded to think it was the only TOC.
