Downloading Calibre Update
I have tried several times to Download calibre 64bit Version: 3.42.0 but it fails every time. I have never had any problems previously with updates. My browser is Mozilla Firefox and I have also tried Google Chrome. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Define "fails".

I was going to suggest that it had something to do with the Firefox fail of yesterday (still ongoing) but then I noticed Macca3 mentioned Chrome too. Oops.
I'll add my voice to the computer restart. |

Thank you everyone for your replies.
lumpynose - what I meant by fail was that it did not download. BetterRed and skb - I did try rebooting but that also didn't work. I however now can advise that when I tried again yesterday to download the update it did download and my Calibre is now updated. Again thank you everyone. |

Thanks for letting us know - maybe your iSP was blocking it, they've been known to do weird things with downloads. BR |

Or it could have been some temporary network glitch. I was hoping it wasn't whatever problem I was having when I couldn't connect to eclipse.org with any browser or telnetting to port 80. Something was out of wack with my networking software on my pc and it was the only site I couldn't connect to. Some networking wizard on reddit had me do all sorts of stuff and even he was stumped. I had been planning on building a new pc and when I did that I installed the latest windows from scratch on a new C drive and unsurprisingly the problem went away. Reminds me of the old days when once a year I'd format the C drive and reinstall windows.
