Author not being sent to kindle paperwhite from Calibre

When sending books from Calibre to my Kindle Paperwhite, the Author is missing on arrival (shows as unknown), and Author now showing as part of the book title This has only started to occur recently, and I don't know how to fix it.

Connect a USB cable and send the books using that instead of by email. amazon recently stopped reading metadata from books sent by email.

Kovid, is there any way around it?? I've not been able to email the books to Amazon thru Calibre (yes I'm on the GMX) it worked in mid Sept..but stopped in October.
My workaround is to see where the book is on the drive.. and then use gmail to send it directly with Gmail.. and yes the author now shows up with the title

Sending books by email to kindle's is working fine, provided you use an email relay server like GMX.
