Is It Possible to Add Subtitle Metadata?

This seems to be a pretty basic requirement for me. It doesn't suit to have to add it to the title line. Thanks.

Create a custom column for it via Preferences->Add your own columns .

Can someone help me out with the custom column template for the Subtitle column. A 'column built from other columns', so it displays anything after the first colon in the Title?
