Calibre 3.3 Template Error
With Calibre 3.3 functions like adding books via drag/drop takes about 5 minutes to add 10 books and then leads to a message of "TEMPLATE ERROR maximum recursion depth exceeded".
Same thing when books are converted, and then the original format is deleted. Apart from this, Calibre functions that change data in the library take overly long, often leading to "non responsive application" errors from windows. Thanks for your help |

Uh! That no happen with a standard (default calibre) template.
You need to post your template so the guru's can dissect it. |

I have not made or changed any templates, mainly because I don't know how to do that.
Meantime I connected a tablet as wireless device, had fairly quick update of metadata, but: since more than 3 hours, the tablet says "waiting for calibre" and calibre on my HP Probook (64bit) under Windows 10 is greyed out and showing no response. At the same time, this is what my task manager reports (see attached image). for your information, I have unistalled Calibre, turned off my Bitdefender, Rebooted and reinstalled and this is now still happening. I appreciate any help and/or ideas, Thanks Susanne |

Uninstalling does NOT remove configurations or Libraries
Since you made no changes: NOTE, this removes ALL plugins, and user settings for Calibre open the config folder (Use Preferences:Miscellaneous:Click the bottom button) LEAVING the folder open in the OS. EXIT CALIBRE Now, empty the folder (or go up 1 level and remove the calibre folder Start calibre. It will create a fresh copy of that folder. Do your test. If it passes, there was a corrupt setting. If it Fails... report back. Kovid will probably ask for a Calibre Bug report with metadata.db attached |

I've tried what you said. Originally it enabled Calibre to start fairly quickly, but it did not make any difference in the "no response" problem that still occurs after any change in metadata. As well, it is just about impossible to synch as wireless with my tab. Yesterday I waited for 3 hours for a synch, only to end up (after reaching 100%) having Calibre give a message that there was an "error communicating with device". Due to travel, my ability to work on this problem is limited for the next few days, but any ideas are absolutely appreciated. Thanks again! |
